- On May 7 from 2 to 4 p.m., Marla Kay will host the awards ceremony for the Young Writers' Expo at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey.
- Marla Kay will give a reading at Roethke House, 1805 Gratiot in Saginaw on August 25th. The poet Theodore Roethke’s historic house is the site of a series of summer picnics and readings. There will be a catered picnic in the yard at 6 p.m. followed by the reading. For more information contact info@roethkehouse.org or call 989-928-0430.
Workshops
Marla Kay has been involved in the Writers-in-Schools programs in Pennsylvania and Michigan. For two years she conducted Outside/Inside Workshops for Women at Second Growth.
